Open Gmail & Yahoo! Mail in Outlook Express


Outlook Express is an email client program from Microsoft is a very famous especially in the office. It is nice to use Outlook Express to receive and send e-mail at home or office. It's just that we need to know the POP server configuration and SMTP server from email servers that we use, so that we can set in Outlook.
Setting Outlook for Yahoo! mail
  1. Make sure your account is a local yahoo account example: name@yahoo.co.id (important), not the yahoo.com, to who should be no additional yahoo.com software as a gateway name YPops.
  2. Login to Yahoo mail, click 'Options' in the upper right corner, then click' access forwarding letter, 'and tick section' Web & POP Access' and click 'save'.
  3. Open Outlook Express, click Tools -> Accounts -> Mail - then click Add -> mail to create an account.
  4. Enter your name, this name will be used as the sender's name on each email you send
  5. Enter your yahoo email address. remember .co.id not .com
  6. Fill incoming mail ... with: pop.mail.yahoo.com
  7. Fill Outgoing mail ... with: smtp.mail.yahoo.com, click Next.
  8. Account Name: fill in with your Yahoo ID without @yahoo.co.id (its just yahoo ID only). example: email address = kay@yahoo.co.id -> means yahoo ID = kay.
  9. Enter your yahoo password, and the tick section 'remember password'. click Next, and Finish.
  10. Choose a new-account you just created, and then click Properties. Select the tab 'Servers' and tick section 'My server requires authentication'.
  11. Click on OK.
  12. Now, try clicking Send/Receive to download email or to check whether any incoming email reply or not. 

Setting Outlook for Gmail
  1. Enable POP in your Gmail settings.
  2. Open Outlook Express.
  3. Fill incoming mail ... with: pop.gmail.com
  4. Fill Outgoing mail ... with: smtp.gmail.com
  5. Fill the account name with the full email address @gmail.com, example: kay@gmail.com
  6. Click Tools -> Accounts -> Mail. Select your account and click Properties.
  7. Select the Advanced section.
  8. Fill in the fields Outgoing (SMTP) = 465 and checklist "This server is ... (SSL)".
  9. Fill the Incoming (POP3) = 995 and checklist "This server is ... (SSL)".
  10. Choose a new-account you just created, and then click Properties. Select the tab 'Servers' and tick section 'My server requires authentication'.
  11. Click OK.
